Colin Keane took both divides of the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap at Dundalk, stepping in for the spare on Invincible Don winner of the second split.
Billy Lee had been due to partner John Morrison's runner but he stood himself down after feeling unwell having partnered Our Rachael into fourth place in the 7.35.
Keane's mount Invincible Don, and the rest looked like they might have a job on to catch first-time blinkered pace setter Sea Bank
However that one edged to his right in the straight leaving the door open for his pursuers.
Of the finishers Invincible Don reversed form with Ondamoura from 23 days back, coming out on top by half a length on this occasion.
"There was a bit of panic beforehand with the jockey change. He's a horse that's very ground dependent as he wants good ground," said stable representative Darren Pratt.
"He may run again in the apprentice race next Friday night."
Colin Keane's win in the 7.35 came aboard Hatch Hall for Karl Thornton.
F.M. Berry, rider of Noble King trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right throughout this race.
