Colin Keane equalled Joseph O'Brien's Irish Flat Championship record of 126 winners for a season when Torn won the opener at Dundalk on Friday evening and has five more chances to better that tally at the Curragh this afternoon.
The 27-year-old native of Trim Co. Meath was touched off by a short head in a later contest on the polytrack but setting a new record may not be delayed much longer and Dermot Weld's Vivaia second favourite for the opening maiden at 12.50pm, could get the job done for the dual champion jockey even before most people start tucking into their Sunday lunch.
Ger Lyons' Power Under Me a general 5/2 favourite for the Hatstone Solicitors Waterford Testimonial Stakes at 1.55pm, looks to be Keane's other standout chance among his quintet of rides.
The Mehmas gelding has twice finished runner-up at Group 3 level this term and will enjoy the ease in the ground at headquarters.
Keane's intended mount Azallya has been scratched from the featured Paddy Power Irish Cesarewitch.
His other rides are Viareggio for Jessica Harrington in the 1.40, Sarah Dawson's Pretty Boy Floyd in the 2.30 and his father Gerry's Cork winner Secret Road in the final race at 4.15.
