Culcor justified short priced favouritism with an all the way win in the opening Thomastown Maiden at Gowran Park.
Colin Keane had the Ger Lyons trained colt away smartly and he was never headed. The Juddmonte owned horse was winning at the fifth attempt, having shown some decent form prior to today.
The blinkers which were fitted at Killarney last time were retained here and they certainly did the trick as the Lyons horse galloped strongly right to the line.
Newcomer Fiddlers Green stayed on well for second, with fellow debutant Coreman back in third.
Shane Lyons said, “That was straight forward. He was just doing what he’s done at home and it’s great to get that maiden win.
“We’ll go home and talk to the Juddmonte team and he’s entered in the July Sales at Newmarket.”
