Juddmonte's Redressed (5/6f) gave supporters cause for concern in winning at Navan today as the Colin Keane's mount was headed and looked beaten, before rallying to win the Irish EBF Champions Weekend Maiden.
The daughter of Le Havre made the running but once headed by Native Queen with a furlong to race, looked beaten. However she battled well and went by Native Queen in the closing stages, for a half-length success.
Winning trainer Ger Lyons was represented by his brother and assistant Shane Lyons who said “we were very happy that the rain came today, she wouldn't have run otherwise as she definitely wants a cut.
“She's a 1m2f filly but not just yet - she'll be that next year. We'll see how she comes out of this race and if she has one more run it will be late on, on the turf. It will all be about next year, we'll let her fill into her frame and she's a big filly.
“It's all about black-type if she strengthens up, but we're glad to get the maiden out of the way.”
The win moves Keane level with Bill Lee, on 74 winners, at the head of the Jockeys' Championship.
