Jockey Colin Keane completed a double at Down Royal today on the Johnny Feane trained Twist Of Magic which landed a gamble (13/2 - 9/2jf) to gain a maiden win in the HSS Hire Nursery Handicap.
The son of Arcano and Keane, earlier successful on Accalia was prominent throughout and in the end stayed on well for a three parts of a length win over Joyce Compton
Following the race, Feane stated “we were just a little bit worried about the ground. She's been a little bit difficult to train as she's very keen and we put the eye-shield on her today and it seemed to work to a degree but she was still keen.
“She has lots of ability but is very hot. Hopefully she should win again if the handicapper is not too hard on her.
“There is a 0-70 handicap at Naas for her over a mile but I don't know if she'll get in to it now.”
