Royal Ascot also-ran Nurburgring (7/4f) made a winning jumps start in the fourth juvenile hurdle of the season today, landing Killarney's Larkin's Bar 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle under jockey JJ Slevin.
The Zoffany-entire was rated 96 when finishing 12th of 14 in Royal Ascot's Queen Vase and today took well to jumping, racing with the pace before getting the better of Thats Jet on the run-in for a half-length win.
Winning trainer Joseph O'Brien trains Nurburgring, named after the Formula 1 circuit in Germany, for owners Bronsan Racing and Slevin reported “he was a little bit careful (jumping) but got the job done.
“He had a rating in the 90s on the flat and hopefully he can build on that win today. He coped with the ground which is a big thing for these horses ahead of the winter and we'll try and find a winners' of one now.”
