UK import and expensive purchase Just Beautiful (4/1) took another step up the ladder with a first Group 2 win today, landing the Curragh's Lanwades Stud Stakes for owner Moyglare Stud, jockey Bill Lee and trainer Paddy Twomey.
The daughter of Pride Of Dubai registered Listed and Group 3 wins in 2021 and while purchased for 625,000gns in November 2021, was absent for a year before failing to win in 2022.
Today, Just Beautiful fought off all seven challengers, making all for a two and a quarter lengths win over Jumbly
Afterwards Twomey said “I’m delighted for the filly, it’s great to get her back on track. We had an interrupted campaign last year and I asked Moyglare could they leave her with me. The fact she ran at all last year was amazing.
“She was third to Art Power on soft ground (last September), it told us all we needed to know. She needed the run the last day and on soft ground she can’t function.
“She’s in the Duke Of Cambridge (at Royal Ascot) but anything from six and 1m1f on fast ground suits.”
