There was quite the finale to the featured Follow @KilbegganRaces On Instagram Handicap Chase with local horse Just A Normal Day (10s into 8s) scoring in the two and a half miler under Conor Orr.
Winning trainer Dot Love also sent out the fourth home, well-backed 5/2 market-leader Lucky Pat
Gordon Elliott 's Mrs Lovett led after two out and she was joined when falling at the last.
Eventual second Plinth made a mistake there, whilst third Seskin Flyer was short of room and stumbled inside the final hundred yards.
After the half-length success Love’s assistant Ciaran Murphy said: “He had a couple of problems but we got them sorted out. We thought he had a big chance off a light weight and thankfully he won and was well on top at the line.
"We'll see what the handicapper does with him now. The ground had just gone for Lucky Pat."
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Plinth, ridden by N.P. Madden, placed second, Seskin Flyer, ridden by S.F. O'Keeffe, placed third and Just A Normal Day, ridden by C.J. Orr, placed first, where it appeared that Seskin Flyer ran short of room and stumbled. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that on the balance of probabilities the interference did not effect the placings and they therefore made no alteration. The Stewards were, however, satisfied that C.J. Orr was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard suspended him for 2 racedays.
D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Shanpallas trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped poorly at times.
