July Revolution has things under control as he approaches the line under Fergal Lynch

On his first start in handicap company the David Marnane trained July Revolution took the Fairyhouse.ie 3yo Handicap over seven furlongs with Fergal Lynch in the saddle.
The son of Cape Cross was also having his first run on turf this evening having run in three maidens on the all-weather at Dundalk.
He showed very little in those maiden runs but running off a mark of 54 today he came from off the pace to lead inside the final furlong before going on to score by two lengths. Love Is The Key finished second at 7/1 for Ben Curtis and Michael Mulvany while there was a length and three parts back to Sharp And Smart in third at 13/2 for Shane Foley and Mick Halford. Phils Wish who was 12/1 in a place this morning was the gamble of the race for John McConnell & Michael Hussey going off the 4/1 favourite.
However that colt never got a blow in and finished a well beaten ninth.
The winner was friendless in the market and having opened at 10/1 with Paddy Powers this morning he drifted out to 14/1. He opened on course at 14/1 but drifted further and was returned at 16/1.
Winning trainer David Marnane said afterwards: "He's a nice horse. He has been immature. I’d say he loved that ground. I hope the handicapper assesses it well as he handled the ground and other didn’t. They finished well strung out.
"It’s great to have a winner for Mahil (winning owner Mahil Lahej Al Basti) as he is a great supporter of the yard."
