Judge scores for O'Grady
The Edward O’Grady trained Judge Roy Bean justified his short price when landing the ‘For Auction’ Grade 3 Novice Hurdle for owner JP McManus.
Andrew McNamara sent the 5/6 favourite to the front before the last and kept on in good style to beat long time leader The Hurl by four and a half lengths.
Winning trainer O’Grady said afterwards: “He’s a much stronger and better horse this year and he has progressed well and is heading in the right direction.”
“He will either go for the Royal Bond or the Sandra & Barry Kelly Memorial hurdle back here. We will have to discuss it with the owners.”
