Retired trainer Adrian Joyce will have taken plenty pleasure in the win of Blastofmagic in division two of the Navan Handicap at Navan today, as the gelding scored for Joyce's new employer trainer Ger O'Leary.
Joyce himself trained Blastofmagic to win twice in 2018 but sent out his final runner last October before moving, along with the son of Hellvelyn, to trainer Ger O'Leary's Curragh base.
Today ex-jockey Joyce, represented trainer O'Leary, said “it was brilliant to get a win out him again for the owner Sean. He came with us when I joined up with Ger so it's great.
“He (Shane Foley) gave him a super ride, you couldn't ask for anything better, he rode him to perfection.
“He needs to be delivered late as he's a horse that kind of stops when he hits the front, when he gets a bit of daylight. He loves the ground.”
The assistant trainer added “Ger is a great boss to have and we have great staff.”
