Daniel King had his flat claim reduced to 5lb riding a winner over jumps at Fairyhouse today, as he landed the Book Your Easter Tickets Rated Novice Hurdle on the Denis Hogan-trained Henning
The Robert Hennelly-owned and bred daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar was produced to lead entering the home straight and while strongly pressed by runner-up One Last Tango on the run-in, held on for a half-length success.
King, currently in school and studying for his Leaving Cert, continues to claim 5lb in jump races although today's 30th career success moves his flat claim in line, from 7lb to 5lb.
King said “she's a nice filly. She had a few issues after her win in Clonmel but the team at home have done a great job and they've got her back to her best.
“She stays a bit further so I was always conscious of keeping the revs up on the leader the whole way.
“When I asked her she picked up and she galloped all the way to the line.”
