Jimmy Ber wins in Eustace colours
Four days after Hardy Eustace's latest Grade 1 success, owner Lar Byrne's colours were carried to success, by the Dessie Hughes trained Jimmy Ber in the Clonoulty Hurdle at Thurles today.
Ridden by Paddy Flood, Jimmy Ber stretched clear of his rivals from the third last flight, eventually fighting off the late challenge of staying on Dancing Tornado for a hard fought three parts of a length win.
Afterwards Hughes reported "Jimmy Ber prefers good ground and that is the best ground he has had so far this year. He is not good enough to go for the top conditions' hurdles and will probably go handicapping next."
