Jigalo reappears quickly to score
Jigalo bounced out a fresh horse from his exertions at Roscommon on Monday to justify favouritism with the very minimum of fuss in the ITBA & Gain Horse Feeds Working For Irish Breeders Handicap Steeplechase at Gowran.
The son of Accordion was expected to do so as well as he found 5/2 from a morning price of 9/2. He cantered into contention under Davy Condon and once let hit the front before two out the contest was soon as good as over as the bottom-weight went away to easily beat Banna Man by three and a half lengths.
Joanna Morgan, the winning trainer wasn't present but Condon said: "He jumps great but he can be a bit quirky sometimes. He had gotten a bit sick of hurdling but the run over fences the other day sweetened him up."
Jigalo, now a winner on the flat, of four hurdles and a chase, was led in by Marie McCarthy, who also led Condon up on his first winner.
Morgan has the well-backed A Hit Is A Hit in action at Dundalk tonight.
