Jamesie lands touch for Marnane
Jamesie justified the good support for him this morning when claiming the six-furlong handicap at Fairyhouse.
Colm O'Donoghue produced his mount with a strong run to lead a furlong out and he kept on strongly to score by a length from the fast-finishing Dotada
David Marnane 's charge had been available at 8/1 this morning and was punted down to as low as 7/2.
He remained strong on course, eventually going off at 3/1 favourite after opening up at 9/2.
The winner was following up a success at Tipperary last time out and was defying a 4lb rise for that victory.
"He's a good little horse," said Marnane afterwards.
"He was balloted out by two at Newmarket recently. We'll probably go for the seven furlong handicap at Galway on the Saturday.
"We'll see what the handicapper does now. Hopefully he gets seven - I think he will as he's settling better in his races now."
