Jackaroo wins Gowran opener
The opening race at Gowran Park the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden saw a promising sort in the Aidan O'Brien trained Jackaroo after he ran out a convincing winner.
Heffernan sent the Galileo gelding to the front from under two furlongs out and kept on well to record a two length win over stablemates Eskimo and Alexander Pope
Winning jockey Heffernan commented: "I liked him, his mother was a good horse and I used ride her out so it was nice to get the spin. The penny has really dropped with him."
The runner-up Eskimo who was making his racecourse debut was very green and veered badly left when running on well close home.
