Niall Madden rode a waiting race on Aa Bee See which reaped dividends as the pair pounced after the final flight in Fairyhouse.

From mid-division they crept into the race approaching the home turn.

The son of Holy Roman Emperor travelled well into fifth before the second last.

Madden switched him to the right approaching the final obstacle and the four-year-old gelding was produced between horses as he jumped it.

Once landed, he bounded away on the run-in to put five and a half lengths on Glasson Lad (50/1). It was the same distance back to Rebel Cry (14/1) in third with 25/1 shot Carrow Queen taking fourth.

Frank Berry, racing manager to JP McManus, said: "He jumped well and handled the ground well. He'd a good break and has got stronger. He's after picking up a flesh wound there and hopefully will be okay."

McManus also won the preceding race on the card with Close Shave

Madden did the steering for his father, Niall Madden.

He looked beaten in fourth when blundering through the last to come home sixth.
