Shane B Kelly ended a lean spell when Admirality convincingly defied top weight in the first split of the Race Displays Handicap at Fairyhouse.
It was case of lucky 13 for the Mount Nelson gelding as he put his seal on this six furlong heat from over a furlong out to defeat Ahundrednotout by three and a half lengths.
"He's always shown us that at home and it was only a matter of time," said Kelly on Johnny Murtagh's charge.
"Today out of all the days I really fancied him and thankfully he's done what he's showing us.
"He could go again and may be that'll do him good getting his head in front.
"He got a bit anxious in the stalls and I was a bit further back than I wanted to be but it worked out perfect in the end."
The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Seeking Truth, trained by Michael G. Cleary, for failing to lodge the passport in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i).
The Stewards interviewed S.B. Kelly, rider of Admirality (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that S.B. Kelly was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (c), in that he had used his whip unnecessarily after his mount had clearly won its race.
Having considered his previous record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned S.B. Kelly on this occasion.
