It all comes right for Orgilgo at Ballinrobe

On outing number nine, and going up in trip, Group 2-placed Orgligo Bay got off the mark on his first start since May when running out a comprehensive three length winner of the opening Ballinrobe Racecourse Of The Year Maiden.
With favourite Shield dropping out from four furlongs out, Gary Carroll pushed the button soon after on Orgligo Bay, sending his mount up the outside of the pace-setters leaving the back straight.
The Lawman three-year-old, now gelded, went on from over a furlong out and his way to a three length success over Beyond Berlin (9/2 into 3/1).
John McConnell trains Orgilgo Bay who runs in the familiar silks of Derek Kierans and the Rockview Stables operator said: "All he does is stay - he just keeps galloping. I gave out to Gary the last day for going too slow and he stayed on at the finish.
"He has been gelded and I probably should have made that known.
"It's nice to see him doing that, it wasn't a great race - he did it well.
"I think we'll stick with the flat but if not we have a nice horse to go hurdling. He could be an Ebor type of horse in time.
"His family is all stamina and the ground doesn't matter to him over longer trips. Over shorter he needs it soft." (DM & EM)
