The victory of Burning Issues in the Paddy Power-sponsored handicap hurdle at Cork was certainly one for Co. Wexford as Tom James and Mikey Fogarty teamed up for a convincing success.
The seven-year-old gelding was supplementing a win at Gowran Park last month, and is trained in Camolin by James for his father Noel who also bred the 5/1 winner.
The Gold Well gelding was sent on by Fogarty after three out, and favourite Mydor appeared set to throw down a challenge when blundering at the next.
Burning Issues kept on really well from before the last to beat 33/1 shot The Mad Well by four and a half lengths, with Royal Chief finishing the same distance further back in third.
James said, "He had little issues and as a result has little miles on the clock but hopefully he might improve another bit.
"He is loving his racing now and jumps great. He'll go chasing next season."
