Iron Major came from last to first to win the seven furlong handicap in Dundalk for Eddie Lynam and 10lb claimer Oisin Orr.

He was the only horse at the two pole not off the bridle but still had plenty to do in rear.

Orr got a split between Cash Or Casualty and Reckless Lad with a furlong to race and the eight-year-old stayed on strongly to score by three lengths at 7/1.

"He's a good rider. He had strict instructions to follow Fran Berry (on Shabra Emperor but two furlongs out decided to stop following him!" said Eddie Lynam.

"That's the horse's 68th start and he's been leading the yearlings for the last six months. The owner (the trainer) was out of luck in the last so that will keep us going." Kiss The Stars at 10/1 got second-placed money, a neck in front of Witty Repartee (6/1). Reckless Lad, the well-backed 2/1 favourite from 7/2 this morning and an opening show of 11/4, couldn't land a blow in the straight in coming home seventh.

This was Iron Major's ninth career success, five of which have come on the polytrack.
