Maze Runner stretched clear to run out an impressive winner of the concluding two-mile handicap at the Curragh this evening, giving Colin Keane a fabulous four-timer on the card.
The Authorized gelding went to post 3/1 favourite on his return to the level and travelled sweetly into contention in the straight under Keane.
He was sent on under two furlongs from home and pulled away from his rivals in the closing stages to post a five-and-a-half length win over stablemate Dark Voyager
Trainer Willie Mullins said of his charge afterwards:- “It was a generous gallop and I think he enjoyed that.
“That might get him qualified for the Irish Cesarewitch, we are all looking forward to that as it's huge prize-money that they have here.
“He might go to Galway in the meantime for the two-mile-five handicap hurdle on the Saturday or the amateur race on the Monday.”
