Ger Lyons and Colin Keane came to Navan this evening with a strong team and after a number of close shaves, notably in the featured Nasrullah Handicap with Unsinkable the pair successfully combined to land the Lynn Lodge Stud Maiden with Intisari
The gelded son of Intikhab showed promise on debut at Gowran Park last month and appreciated the step up in trip here to ten furlongs. Duchessofflorence made a bold bid to kick clear from the front early in the straight but Keane was wise to the move, and the 11/4 chance stayed on strongly up the hill to the line to score by a length and three quarters. Here For The Craic stayed on late to snatch second, with the well-backed 6/4 favourite Duchessofflorence a further half-length back in third.
Lyons said, "He's still very raw and very green, and that's as quick as he wants it. I think he'll improve again for that.
"Hopefully we can find a nice little conditions race for him. He loved the ten furlongs and the galloping track."
Lyons and Keane went on to complete a double on the evening with Vale Do Sol in the concluding ten-furlong handicap.
