J.P. McManus' Inothewayurthinkin (2/1) followed up a recent gambled debut win with a second consecutive success today, landing Gowran's PRL Group Novice Hurdle for trainer Gavin Cromwell and jockey Mark Walsh.
The son of Walk In The Park was a heavily backed debut winner at Cork on November 6 and today stepped up in grade, out-battling Grade 3-runner-up Imagine by a half-length.
Willie Mullins' well touted French import Spanish Harlem (11/8f) failed to keep pace with the leaders and finished 3.75 lengths further away in third.
Afterwards Cromwell said “he’s still a baby and green enough but I’m delighted with that. He knew his job a bit better today and looks a nice one going forward. He showed a good attitude from the last and wanted to win.
“He’s entered in the Grade 1 novice at Christmas. He’ll probably stick to two miles for the moment but looks like a lad that will stay a bit further.”
