The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares INH Flat Race at Thurles saw Jamie Codd complete a first and last race double aboard Mollys Glory (6/4 favourite).

Codd won the opener on Jury Duty for Gordon Elliott, and between rides the Wexford man went inspecting horses in the locality. Of course the former champion between the flags and in the amateur ranks, is busy also in his role with Tattersalls.

Former Denis Cullen racer Mollys Glory (15/8 — 2/1 — 6/4), beginning here for Michael Grassick, got there at the line to beat Premier Queen (40/1) by a head.

Premier Queen certainly didn’t help her cause by jinking briefly at the roadway over a furlong out.

"I don't ever remember having a runner here!” said Grassick in the aftermath.

"We bought her out of Denis Cullen's and only have her about six weeks. We bought her for cousins of my wife so it was nice to get that for them as they spent plenty of money on her. Hopefully she is lucky now.

"I've been following from her run at Navan, and to me she looked like a filly who wanted better ground - that's why I was coming here but it turned out to be the opposite although it was an ideal race for her and we had to take our chance.

"Jamie says she'll be a lot better on better ground and we might run in the Listed mares' bumper in Fairyhouse on Easter weekend. We'll leave hurdling to next season."
