Immutable produced a game effort to grind out victory in the mile handicap at Naas for in-form trainer Joe Murphy.
The Muhaarar gelding was a well-backed 11/4 shot (9/2 in morning) and was produced to challenge between horses a furlong-and-a-half from home by Gary Carroll.
He got the better of Something Nice close home to secure a half length win over the 2/1 favourite.
Immutable had won a Gowran Park maiden last October and was making his seasonal debut tonight.
Joe Murphy junior (son and assistant) said afterwards:- “He has a good attitude and probably goes on any ground.
“Going up in distance will probably help him and he’ll go for either the Royal County Handicap at Navan or the Ulster Derby.
“All his form is on slower ground but that’s just the way it has worked out and he hasn’t had the opportunity to run on a good surface.”
