Apprentice jockey Ian Brennan recorded his 13th winner of the season at Tramore today when steering the John Murphy trained Ibsen to win the Waterford & Tramore Supporters Club Handicap.
Brennan, who carried 3lbs over weight on the winner (at 8st6lbs) and was thus unable to claim, produced the son of Dubawi to lead a furlong out before staying on well to defeat Danequest by half a length.
Murphy was not present but Brennan, who is enjoying a fine year, stated “he was a bit lazy for me but kept going and came back on the bridle going down the hill. He kept on well and will make a nice jumper in time.”
