Colin Keane got the better of title rival Donnacha O’Brien as Hypnotic Force made a winning reappearance in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Roscommon.
The daughter of Lethal Force, out of the money on both outings last year, led a furlong out under the reigning champion and stayed on well to beat odds-on favourite Queen Iseult by a length. Bongiorno was a further three quarters of a length back in third.
Winning trainer Ger Lyons’ brother and assistant Shane said, “Katie McGivern and Michael Murphy own her and have done a lot of work with her. She has a bit of a pedigree so that was the main thing to get that box ticked.
“Colin said she was a little bit fresh beforehand but won well. She liked the ground and hopefully it’s onwards and upwards. She was a little bit weak last year.”
