Hughes records double at Fairyhouse
Curragh based trainer Dessie Hughes recorded a quick double this afternoon when winning The Grade 3 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final with Shirley Casper under Barry Geraghty.
Hughes commented afterwards, "We're lucky to have her and she's a really good mare. We've always thought this was her ground, she won on decent ground at Leopardstown and again here today and hopefully we'll get decent ground when she goes to Punchestown for a 2m 2f Mares Race."
Hughes' earlier winner was with Sarteano when he won the opening race on the card, The Lexeme Retail Novice Handicap Hurdle.
