Hot Flame well-backed and delivers at 3rd attempt

Jeremys Flame (12s into 9s) reversed Galway form from September with Pont Aval making all to triumph in the closing Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares INH Flat Race at Naas.
The winner and Willie Mullins' Pont Aval were fourth and third behind Best Of Dubai at Ballybrit in the autumn, but this time the Closutton runner was relegated to the runner-up spot by her old rival and all the way scorer.
Asked for more by Mark O'Hare a furlong out, the sweet-travelling Jeremys Flame eventually had three and a quarter lengths to spare over Pont Aval, with eight lengths back to 66/1 shot Dylan Rock in third.
Gavin Cromwell trains Jeremys Flame for the Flushfarm Racing Syndicate, and she was shedding her maiden tag at the third time of asking, off a 70 day break.
“That was good. I fancied her as I think she's a lovely mare,” said Cromwell.
“It didn't work out for her the first two days. She's hot and it didn't really work out for her but thankfully it went right there today.
“I think she's not too bad and when the ground gets softer she'll love that too.
“Where we go from here I don't know. I won't rush her because she's a hot enough type of a mare. We'll take our time and keep her head settled.”
