Homme D’Un Soir (2/1 into 5/4) brought up a double in the closing couple of races at Gowran for Gordon Elliott, taking the P.J. Foley Memorial INH Flat Race impressively under Jamie Codd.
Like most of his rivals this fellow was a newcomer, representing Simon Munir and Isaac Souede.
The French-bred son of Hurricane Cat, added to earlier gains for Cullentra House with Chosen Mate (Davy Russell), putting his stamp on this two miler from over a furlong out.
Codd’s mount eventually crossed the line with seven and a half lengths and twelve lengths to spare over Light Brigade and Quite Incredible
Paddy Power go 20/1 first show about Homme D’Un Soir for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.
“He’s a grand horse but he’s a baby. He’s a big weak horse and maybe a horse for next year," said Elliott.
“I wouldn’t say he’s one for Cheltenham but I’ll have to speak to the owners. He wants a dig in the ground.”
