Moyglare Stud Farm's Homeless Songs impressed on debut for Dermot Weld and Oisin Orr in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown.
Not the smartest out of the stalls, the successful daughter of Frankel was pushed along briefly, and was soon racing in the rear of mid-division.
Making a bit of ground at the halfway point, Homeless Songs was pushed along from over two furlongs out, and soon made headway on the outer.
Ridden to chase the leaders over a furlong out, the 8/1 victor led and kept on strongly inside the final furlong to beat Agartha by two lengths.
“It was impressive. She's been working very nicely at home and I thought she'd be tough to beat on the day but inexperience had to be a concern first time,” said Weld.
“She was green early on and Oisin took his time on her, which was the plan.
“She could be very talented. The Moyglare would be the plan for her and we'll maybe have one start between now and then.
“She's a lovely beautifully bred filly, and she's a stayer with speed. Please God there is plenty to look forward to.”
