Home bred success for the O'Brien's
Lady Lupus under a never say die ride from Johnny Murtagh took the Lanwades & Staffordstown Studs Stakes at the Curragh for trainer Aidan O'Brien in the colours of his wife Ann-Marie.
Bred by Ann-Marie, the filly is by High Chaparral out of Lady Icarus and the two-year-old who was fourth in the CL Weld Stakes at the same track, bounced out of a maiden at Navan on Wednesday to score here in front of all the O'Brien family.
O'Brien said; "She is a tough staying filly, and it was maybe a bit unfair to run her back so quick but she is very tough.
"Johnny said she is still very green and she was pulling up in front but I think she could be a smart filly for next year."
