Denis Hogan was seen to good effect when winning The Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle aboard the Christy Roche trained What's New in the familiar colours of JP McManus.

Winning trainer Roche said afterwards, "This lad kept coming back to me injured, we just couldn't get him right and this was his last chance. He was a bit unlucky the last day he ran when he turned over. Denis gave him a great ride, he has plenty of experience and we'll probably go for another handicap."
