Hip off the mark over fences
The Edward O’Grady trained Shot From The Hip showed the benefit from his unsuccessful chase debut over Christmas when winning the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse today.
The Grade 1 winning son of Monsun, ridden by Mark Walsh, jumped much better than on his chase debut and while untidy at the second last fence today, eventually proved half a length to strong for former Cheltenham winner Ninetieth Minute
Afterwards O’Grady said “I was delighted with his jumping today as opposed to being horrified at Christmas!
“He had it all to do today – the first two horses are both good horses. I wanted to get his jumping right today and get that win out of the way. That’s mission accomplished now and we’ll probably go for a winners’ race somewhere now.”
