Hildor a bridesmaid no more
Billy Lee took the Dawn Omega Milk Maiden by the scruff of the neck on Hildor into the straight and he had a willing partner as the chestnut daughter of Pivotal kept up the gallop to see off Dazzle Dancer by a length and three parts.
The first two were the joint 9/4 market-leaders but Lee got his bid for glory in first out on the track, striking on from the three furlong pole and his mount kept going well to see off Dazzle Dancer, who had chased in vain from over a furlong out.
Joe Murphy, the winning trainer, said: "She is the bridesmaid no more. She is a very genuine filly and it was her honesty that won it for her really. Maurice Regan is the owner of the Newtown Anner Stud Farm and they are based just outside Clonmel.
"They are building up a breeding operation there."
