High Definition (7/1) came from last in the opening 1m maiden for 2-year-olds and stayed on well when switched towards the far side to come home three quarters of a length in front of stablemate Wordsworth (5/2 fav). Flying Visit (33/1) finished strongly for third with McPherson who led under a furlong from home, having to settle for fourth in the end.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained winner is a full-brother to last season’s Beresford Stakes winner and Vertem Futurity runner-up Innisfree with the pair being out of Listed winner Palace.
He holds Group 2 entries at Leopardstown on Champions Weekend and also the afore-mentioned Beresford Stakes later next month.
Winning rider Wayne Lordan commented: "He was a little raw early.
"Through the middle of the race they didn't quicken away from me and I was getting into a nice rhythm. He finished out comfortably.
“He's a lovely colt and he's going to be a lovely horse next year going a trip.”
