Hell Left Loose continues to go from strength to strength for Denis Hogan, with his latest success coming in the King John’s Castle Handicap (Div I) at Limerick.
He’s now won three from five since joining Hogan, and he managed the step-up to this near seven furlongs alright, when in the hands of Joe Doyle he edged out Noirvento by a head.
It was just a neck to What A Feeling in third, but the well-backed winning favourite (3/1 into 15/8) wasn’t to be denied.
"He is after winning three now and the only day he was beaten was over five (furlongs) at the Curragh. Between six and seven is ideal and today's ground was also ideal,” said Hogan.
"The race was coming a bit soon today and the lads didn't put any pressure on me to run him but I said he is well, it is easy ground and there isn't much left this season so I let him run.
"HRI deserve the credit for these horses as I have two in this division and two in the next and it has opened up loads of options for them; before these horses were getting balloted and you'd wait three weeks to get a run but they have been doing super work to add races.
"We'll go for something similar with him next and the man on his back is some addition to me, he is riding super well and it is great to give him confidence going into the weekend."
At the request of the Stewards, Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Stamp Of Authority trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her mount stood in the stalls when the gates opened.
