Abby Cadabby bounced out fit and well from a Clonmel win on Thursday to land the fourth at Wexford. Thirty five minutes later a Powerstown Park fourth-placer from two days previous, Hurricane Jojo did something similar when taking the Phelim Byrne's Seasuir At Wexford Racecourse Handicap with authority under Seamie Heffernan.
Abby Cadabby was going up in trip from Thursday's assignment whilst for Hurricane Jojo it was a case of coming back from an extended two miles to a mile and three quarters. Hurricane Jojo was never far away and she wasn't for catching from two furlongs out.
She ended up beating the two big ones in the betting, Everything Zain (3/1 favourite) and Greatness (7/2 – big morning price market mover) by two and a quarter lengths and one and a half lengths.
Steven Ryder has care of Hurricane Jojo for Mrs Philomena Shanahan and it was left to Heffernan to divulge: "It means a lot to ride a winner for Phil and John (the Nenagh-based owners). They are great friends of mine, and they are great supporters of racing.
"She was a little bit disappointing at Clonmel, but Steven said she ate up well since and she did it well today."
C.P. Hoban, rider of Boronia trained by Charles O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not act on the ground.
F.M. Berry, rider of Greatness, trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung right in the closing stages.
