Heffernan up okay following fall after line on winner Memorabilis

Memorabilis finished off a decent day for Aidan O’Brien after the win of Battleground at Royal Ascot earlier, taking the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Fairyhouse.
In a year when 47-year-old Seamie Heffernan has realistic hopes of becoming champion jockey, he could have done nicely without the nasty fall he got from Memorabilis after the line.
The twice previously raced Galileo colt veered away to his left and jumped a rail, unseating Heffernan. He reportedly sustained a split lip.
Memorabilis made most and proved too tough a nut to crack for favourite Taramansour A length and three parts separated them and there was three parts of a length to the promising Druid’s Altar in third.
A close relative of yesterday’s Royal Ascot third placer, Almania, the victor holds Irish Derby and Curragh Cup entries.
