Bertinelli holds off Pivotal Revive

Seamie Heffernan bagged a short priced double at Dundalk tonight but the second leg proved tougher on Bertinelli.
The Justify colt went to post a 1/5 shot in the mile maiden having been second to stablemate Peking Opera on his debut at Leopardstown last month.
Heffernan tracked the leaders on the hotpot but he had to work to gain a narrow lead just inside the final furlong.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt dug deep in the closing stages to hold newcomer Pivotal Revive by a neck.
Heffernan revealed afterwards that his mount had lost his action behind early on:-
“He's a very smart horse. After going about two or two-and-a-half furlongs he lost his back-end and I see a mark on his hock there.
“I'm a huge fan of the Justifys. He's very weak and he still has the ability to run well and win.
“I think he's got a lot of potential. If he hadn't got struck into behind I suspect he would have been very impressive.”
