Heffernan Suspension

Sun 28th Sep 2008, 17:37

The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately two furlongs from the finish of this rae involving Gluteus Maximus ridden by Seamus Heffernan and Gaelic Chief ridden by Niall McCullagh, both unplaced.

Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.

Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Gluteus Maximus had caused interference to Gaelic Chief and therefore found that Seamus Heffernan had ridden carelessly and suspended him for 1 raceday (date to be confirmed by the Turf Club).
