Red Heel proved very game in front to secure a narrow success in the fillies handicap at Gowran Park.
Wesley Joyce bounced out in front on the Mick Mulvany-trained filly and she was strongly pressed inside the final furlong by Mise Le Meas
The daughter of Dylan Thomas found plenty as she held that rival's challenge to secure a half length success.
The 16/1 winner was making her seasonal debut and was recording her fourth career success.
Mulvany said:- “She’s improving all the time and had a hard season last year.
“Starting off today I thought she might need the run. She’s a tough lady and seems to be getting stronger.
“She had a bit of trouble going into the stalls in the past but Will Hayes has done a good job with her.
“We’ve learned that she runs better without the whip and Wesley gave her a fine ride.”
