Heather Bear continued her progressive profile to complete a hat-trick for Andy Slattery senior and junior, trainer and rider, in the Play The Tote Exacta On Every Race Handicap at Ballinrobe.
The Kodi Bear filly, sporting the colours of renowned tenor Ronan Tynan, made it three from three since sent into handicaps last month and like Naas last time was up with the pace throughout.
The 11/4 favourite kept on best in the closing stages to beat Prophets Voice by a neck with a Shin Undine a-length-and-a-quarter back in third.
Andy Slattery senior said, "The race suited her more than the track or the trip. She will want a mile and a half with a cut in the ground.
“That ground is lovely out there, there’s a cut in it, but I was just a bit wary today around a sharp track like this. a big galloping track will suit her better. She’s actually getting faster in her last few pieces of work.
“Ronan sadly couldn’t be here, he’s away on business.
“She’ll hardly go to Galway but we’ll keep tipping away with her and she’ll keep improving. She’s the type that just does enough and is by a good sire, too, in Kodi Bear.”
