Heart Of Darkness opened her account at the second attempt when taking the Book Online At DundalkStadium.com Maiden.
Trained by Paddy Twomey and racing in the famous black and white colours of the late Lady O’Reilly, the daughter of Mehmas finished fourth on debut at Cork a fortnight ago. Oh So Bright set a good pace in this six-furlong event and was headed by the easy-to-back 6/4 winner well over a furlong out.
Billy Lee ’s mount edged left inside the final furlong and just held on by a neck from Ojw Legacy with Oh So Bright a length further back in third.
Twomey said, "She's improved in the two weeks (since her debut) and I think the surface has probably helped her. I'm delighted she's won, they are important colours.
“She ran well first time but I'd say she just didn't love the soft ground, she's enjoyed that surface today.
“She's a nice filly and I think we'll look at stakes races for the rest of the year. Something like the Polonia, if the ground was quick we might go back to Cork.”
