The money came in a big way for Majestic Jasmine (4s into 2s) in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden at Dundalk but she had to play second fiddle to Hazy Glow
A daughter of Invincible Spirit, Hazy Glow was ridden by Pat Smullen and she asserted from a furlong and a half out, staying on strongly to easily beat Majestic Jasmine by four and a half lengths.
Conor Hoban, jockey on the gambled-on sixth home here, Drifting Mist (16s this morning into 6s), picked up a 2 day careless riding ban.
Smullen said of the Dermot Weld-trained, Moyglare Stud-owned victor: "We always liked her a lot. She ran in a bog first time out at Naas. She ran well at the Curragh then when it was slow and she probably didn't stay the mile.
"We always thought she was capable of winning a maiden and she was crying out for good ground.
"She floated to the start today and she won well."
Smullen is now on the 79 winner mark whilst Joseph O'Brien leads the way on 85 in the race to be champion jockey for 2012. (GC & EM)
