The Michael Halford trained Hazledoc got the better of a tight finish to win the opening Horse Racing Returns Friday 3rd January 2014 Nursery Handicap at Dundalk this evening, scoring by a nose under Conor Hoban.
The daughter of Azamour battled well under pressure and 'dipped' at the best time to see off Fight U For It by the minimum distance.
Halford later stated “that was an important nose! It's always nice to win with the fillies as two year olds and they were at it from a long way out.
“She has still a bit of growing to do so I imagine she'll improve a good bit. She'll want niceish ground and will get further.”
