Papa's Way and Chris Hayes win for trainer Paul Deegan

Chris Hayes had something of a breakthrough year in 2013 and began the new year with a bang, completing a treble on the card at Dundalk this evening on board Papa's Way in the concluding Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Maiden.
Hayes was made work hard on the son of Rakti, who battled well to see off Sceilg by half a length.
Winning trainer Paul Deegan later stated “he (Papa's Way) is a big eejit still but will make a lovely dual purpose horse.
“He'd be suited by a slower surface and will stay further; he'll do both jobs and will mix and match.”
Hayes was earlier on the mark with The Firm and Armed Guard
