Wayne Hassett was again seen to good effect when partnering his fifth winner in the past ten days as Clonmacash came out on top in a thrilling finish to the Book Online At DundalkStadium.com Nursery.
The Natalia Lupini-trained colt was switched right to challenge on the stands’ side in the final furlong and just prevailed by a head from Transcending Glory Scorchio also held every chance but could find no extra in the closing stages a further half-a-length back in third.
Lupini’s partner Craig Bryson said, “He had run some good races in defeat.
"We thought the six would suit him and a 7lb claimer booked, Wayne is riding extremely well. He is well worth his seven."
On the winter series, he added: "We'll have a few, we'll not have loads, but we'll have a few there to run away and keep the thing going if we can."
