Harrington completes Punchestown double
Jessie Harrington completed a double this evening when Bullock Harbour took the concluding Motivate Challenge in Association with Naas Triathlon Club Flat Race.
Barry Connell who took the riding honours also owns the Second Empire gelding.
Connell who was in front early was headed by Mickelson and Nina Carberry entering the straight.
The six year old responded well to pressure to get up and lead close home and deny Mikelson by a neck.
Emma Harrington who was representing the winning trainer said afterwards: “That was great for Barry [Connell]. “
“He bought him back in September and he was disappointing when he ran at Navan, he just couldn’t handle the ground.”
“We’ll keep him on the go throughout the Summer now.”
Harrington’s earlier winner came with Sandymount Lady after she took Motivate Challenge Supporting Barrettstown Maiden Hurdle.
